UMS Aluminum Boats
The Ukrainian company UMS was founded in 2000 in Kyiv. Since 2003, the company’s products have been exported. In particular, boats under the UMS brand are operated in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Georgia, Ghana, Canada, and more.
UMS is characterized by quality and reliability, with even the smallest boats using aluminum no thinner than 3 mm. The unique construction of the hulls provides high hydrodynamic performance. Combined with modern design, this results in a superior product.
During production, UMS uses high-quality aluminum alloy 5083 H111, known for its magnesium additive, which enhances standard aluminum properties. It is also called “marine aluminum” due to its excellent corrosion resistance in aggressive environments.
The narrow hull design means it is sharper in the middle than at the transom. A less sharp stern keeps the boat more level when stationary while also improving fuel efficiency and increasing speed. The sharp bow allows for smoother navigation in high waves.
All UMS hulls feature an “inverted chine,” which refers to an edge with a negative angle at the junction of the hull and the board. This design improves grip during turns and redirects water spray away from the hull, preventing water from entering the boat.
Powerboats typically experience a “glide threshold,” where the bow rises before reaching glide speed. By increasing the transom inclination angle to 19 degrees, UMS boats achieve a more balanced engine position relative to the hull, effectively minimizing the “glide threshold.”
